Owner
Donna is the VERY proud owner of The Dance Academy for 26 years, and feels honored to have the studio where it is today. With over 600 local dancers annually, which she knows most by their first names! Her goal is to put forth a beautiful recital each year, while instilling great pride in all the dancers' hearts. Between her and her husband of 42 years (Mr.Charlie), they take pride in providing a beautiful place to dance.
Kelly
Teacher
Our dedicated, reliable and passionate teacher for 41 years, specializing in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical & Tap. She has choreographed thousands of creative dance routines, and lifetime friendships with her dancers,and families.
Tracy
Teacher
Has been a superior teacher for over 26 years with us! She has performed in New York City in an off Broadway Production, and has taught many local Brides & Grooms their 1st dance. She is well rounded in being able to teach over 20 different types of dance including multiple types of ballroom.
Leeann
Teacher
Graduate of Marygrove College with a BA in dance, theater, and performance. She also performed on tour with the Urban Ballet Theater. She is now in her 26th year with The Dance Academy. She is well known for her Ballet/Pointe Choreography and an excellent mentor for our teens.
Jenny
Teacher
Jenny has danced at The Dance Academy since the age of 3. She taught at our studio from 1999-2004, she then taught at a local studio in Kalamazoo in 2005 while attending Western Michigan University, and has been back at our studio since 2015. Jenny graduated from Madonna University in 2009 with her bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She also currently works as a hospice nurse. Jenny has always had the passion for dance within her heart, and has never stopped dancing her way through life. She loves being able to watch a dancer transform throughout the year. Jenny is looking forward to another amazing year!
Sarah
Teacher
Sarah has been dancing with our studio for 27 years. She was an assistant teacher for several years, and has been teaching for the past 12 years. Each year Sarah puts together our music for the classrooms, and all our shows. She is the mechanism backstage for us, and does a phenomenal job with our recital programs as well. She is a proud graduate of Ferris State University.
Erica
Teacher
Erica started dance classes at the age of three and has been dancing her whole life. It has always been a huge part of her life and it defines who she is. She is a graduate of Michigan State University and married her college sweetheart, Marc, and together have three beautiful children. She is thankful for the opportunity to teach and is so excited to share her passion and lifelong love of dance with your little girls who are just beginning their journey!
Malena
Teacher
Malena has been dancing for the past 21 years. She has experience in Ballet,lyrical,contemporary,jazz,and hip hop. Malena has trained with The American Ballet Theatre and has been certified through the national training curriculum up to level 3B.She attended Wayne State University for a Doctorate in Physical therapy with a minor in Psychology. Malena is looking forward to the new dance season and can’t wait to share her love of dance with your little ones!
Mikayla

Mikayla started dancing at the age of 5, and has been with the Dance Academy for the past 13 years. She was an assistant teacher for 2 years and has been teaching for the past 3 years. Mikayla truly loves dancing and being a part of the Dance Academy family. She graduated with her Associates Degree in Graphic Design from St. Clair County Community College. She is now attending Oakland University for her Bachelor's in Advertising and Dance. Mikayla is looking forward to another year!
Devin
Teacher
Devin Sergent is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer. She received a BFA in Dance Performance from Madonna University. Devin trained in the competitive circuit for over five years with The Dance Academy Port Huron. She has also trained in concert dance with The Dance Academy Port Huron and Madonna University. Devin has participated in festivals like The American College Dance Association, Oakland Dance Festival and Detroit Dance City Festival. Devin has performed at many events like Half-Time at a Harlam Globetrotters Game, Festival of Trees, Relay for Life, Port Huron Rotary Parade and numerous basketball games with Madonna University’s Competitive Dance Team, leading them as a Captain. Devin loves to dance but has a true passion for teaching and choreographing. She has taught at The Dance Academy Port Huron since she was fifteen years old. She teaches ages two to eighteen many different genres including tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, modern, musical theater, pom, and hip hop. Devin has choreographed for The Dance Academy Port Huron’s Competitive Dance Team, MUse Dance Ensemble in Meraki, and she assisted Tracy Halloran in choreographing a work for the Spirit Week program performance, at Madonna University. Devin is currently earning her Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration at Madonna University
Robin

Meet our Ms. Robin… Ms. Robin started dancing at the age of 5 years old.
She loves to teach your children, and still has the passion of dance for herself... as she too continues to perform each season.
Elecia
Teacher
Ms. Elecia has been a part of the Dance Academy since the age of 2 years! During her high school years she was our assistant teacher and a teacher here in her senior year. She left for Central Michigan University and was a part of their dance team for four years. After gradation from college, she moved out of state, where they were blessed to have her in Ohio as a fun and exceptional dance teacher. We are so happy to welcome her and her family back in Michigan!
Ann
Receptionist
Ann is a local retired teacher who loves kids. Ann has two adult children, one of which spent many years here with The Dance Academy! She's looking forward to conversing with all of you at our front desk.
Missy
Receptionist / Teacher
Ms. Missy started dancing at the age of two, and ever since, dance has had a special place in her heart. Missy has been a part of the Dance Academy family for the past 16 years. She loves teaching our tiny dancers as she has so much fun with them each week. She also works the front desk at our studio and enjoys helping all our dance families. Missy always says the best part is seeing the excitement in our dancer's faces when they come to class.
